“FABRIQUE BAKERY – Il Regno del Cardamomo!”  in italiano

It’s easy to find fancy looking cafes and bakeries in London, I’m sure that this one may not capture your attention immediately, because the interiors are very simple, nothing too fancy, but what they bake and sell is absolutely delicious and top quality.

Fabrique Bakery has now four shops in London and I’ve visited a few times the one in Covent Garden because I just adore the area.

It is a stone oven bakery from Sweden, Stockholm to be precise and they use fresh and natural ingredients to make sourdough bread, and it is all done by hand, the kneading etc. This gives an amazing taste to the final product.

They are also pretty good at making super yummy Cardamom Rolls. Yes, their own version of the famous Cinnamon Buns. Cardamom is not for everybody, it has a stighy taste, strong and slighty bitter, but believe me their Cardamom Bun is to die for! They are called “Kardemummabullar” in swedish and their shape resembles a knot, made with several layers of dough which has been sprinkled within the layers with cardamom seeds, butter and brown sugar.

Recently they have started making Hallongrottor, which is a typical mini cake from Sweden, very simple to make, and it consists in a small cake baked into a cupcake case, with a dough similar to pastry and filled with raspberry jam.

Last time I visited Fabrique I enjoyed a Cardamom Bun and a lovely cup of filter coffee, I love the shop in Covent Garden because is pretty small and cosy!
