HIGHNESS CAFE | BAKERY ARTIGIANALE LONDRA in italiano

I have found out about this little Bakery & Cafe in Highbury (Islington, London) just because my boyfriend used to live across the road, literally. What a lovely discovery! Simply Best  Cakes in London (nearly!)

Being an American/British Pastry expert (!!!) does not allow me to enjoy every and each pastry and cake slice I taste here and there, I can judge and and do it. Definitely. So I am very critical, alway. but in this case I could criticize pretty much anything.

Highness is a novelty. A little Bakery in this central but residential area in North London, no tourists, no ectic people running up and down.

This is a lovely place with delicious cakes.
I love spending some time over the weekend in cafes doing my things, writing articles, studying for my Prince2 Qualification, etc etc etc – And Highness hosted my laptop writing sessions several times. They bake all their cakes, all of them. And definitely use good quality ingredients because the taste is there, the flavour is there too, and the tearoom is lovely. Not a posh looking place as Dominique Ansel Bakery, but the not-matching forniture in here will bring you back to your nan’s old drawing room, and all you can do is ..

…just relax and enjoy a slice of double chocolate cake.

I have tried their savoury food too. Big portions, tasty and definitely well cooked and presented. Multigrain toasted bread with mashed avocado and poached egg was delicious and the sliced chilli on top added some extra kick, so much appreciated it!  I was in thee 2 weeks ago again and treated myself with their multigrain toasted bread with mushrooms and eggs.

Again, so tasty and made my day. This lovely cafe in the Residential Area of Highbury, 10 mins away from Angel, also won a very important Award in 2018: The London TimeOut Love London Award. They have been judged as the Best Neighbourhood Bakery in London.

Highness is Family run. In the Menu you can find Breakfast, Brunch and Afternoon Tea, so there is something for every moment of the day, and for everyone: they also haave a yummy selection of vegan Cakes and Cookies. Service is friendly and everyone makes you feel at ease. The best spot is definitely the mezzanine floor, nice view over the pastry counter!

Prices are not extremely high becuase we are not in central London. Cakes go from £3.50-ish up. Hot Drinks from £2.60 up. They do take Card Payemnts but with a minimum charge of £7.

Address: 21a Highbury Park , London , N5 1QJ

How to get there: tube up to HIGHBURY & ISLINGTON Station, then take bus number 19 or 4. Both stop right in from of the Cafe.
