Olio di COCCO – a cosa serve, esattamente?!  in italiano

I will not write a 2000 word piece on what I personally think about Coconut Oil, because it is not what you want to know, I guess. What you are searching for is:

  • is it good or not?
  • How can I use it?

Let’s reply immediately to the first question: yes, yes yesss! It is so-ooo good! I’ve discovered it just recently, something like 6 minths ago, but since then I’ve tried to use it every time I could.

Tattoo after care, as hand cream, hair, and even on a burn after having bumped my hand on very hot pan!

So lets go straght to the second question and here I have for you a list of things you can do with Coconut Oil!

  1. Its unique composition makes it very beneficial for certain types of hair, use it as hair mask for 30 mins, then wash your hair normally.
  2. Very good added to your food daily for extra energy, and it is not stored as fat.
  3. Same benefits can be applied to the skin, it is in fact a natural moisturzer, with natural antioxidants and it can help wrinkles to develop and halps with skin irritation as well.
  4. It contains good fats, and that’s why it helps the digestion. It has antimicrobial properties that can help to fight stomach irritation.
  5. Healthy fats. As I said before it contains helthy fats, over 50% of the fat in Coconut Oil is lauric acid, in fact believet it or not can be compared to breatmilk for its quantity of lauric acid.
  6. When lauric acid is digested, it forms a substance called monolaurin.Lauric acid and monolaurin can kill harmful pathogens like bacteria, viruses and fungi
  7. Great for cooking. It is a stable oil, and does not break down easily at high temperatures and has very good nutritional properties. It is great for cooking eggs, stir fries etc

  1. On burns, sunburs etc – helps the skin heal faster because it contains beneficial fats.
  2. Used as make up remover.
  3. Helps lighten age spots
  4. As a scrub if you add equal quantity of sugar.
  5. Used alone is a fab tanning oil.
  6. Rub it on your cuticcles, it helps nails grow.
  7. Rub a small amount of Coconut Oil into real leather to soften and condition it.
  8. A spoonful into a hot tea can help to sooth sore throat
  9. It helps sooth the icht of chicken pox
  10. And guess what…..itcan reduce your hunger.

This is because fatty acids in it are metabolized and it can help reducing your appetite and can  increase fat burning, especially belly fat which is rather dangerous.

Coconut oil is one of the few foods that can be classified as a “superfood.”

It is rich in saturated fats, but not the kind that are considered “bad” ones. Coconut Oil’s saturated fats  go straight to the liver from the digestive tract, so can be used a source of energy. Many populations around the world have thrived for years and years eating huge quantity of coconut oil’s fats, and it is scentifically proven that are in great health.

In order to enjoy its health benefits  you must buy organic, virgin coconut oil, not the refined stuff!

Hope this can help, I really like using it!
